Springfield - Charles Gilman Bristol, 89, of Springfield passed away July 6, 2018.
Charlie was born in Springfield, MA on April 26, 1929 to the late Gilman Wayland Bristol and Mary Elizabeth (Rich) Bristol.
He attended the Pennington School in New Jersey Class of 1949, and graduated from American International College in Springfield.
Charlie served in the US Armed services as an Army Paratrooper and Assistant Chaplain and lived and worked in the Springfield area most of his life. As an entrepreneur, he founded businesses that directly assisted others to help themselves to a better life through employment opportunities.
He leaves his longtime partner, best friend, and soulmate Cindy Tricinella of Springfield, and Cindy’s niece Jennifer Palma, husband Dan and daughter Gabriella of Longmeadow. He is survived by his daughter, Diana Jones of Belchertown, and his son, Andrew Bristol of Ludlow and his wife Evelyn, and his sister Sandra Bristol Irvine of Rhode Island. He also leaves two lovely granddaughters, Katie LaFlamme, and her husband Ben of Ware, and Julianne Jones of Vermont, as well as two fun-loving great-granddaughters, Kearny and Harlow.
Funeral services with military honors for Charlie will be on July 13, 2018 at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA. Visitation will be held on July 12, 2018 from 4 – 7 pm at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA.
