SPRINGFIELD - Catherine Houck Hays, 78, beloved wife, mother, Gramma, friend and artist, passed away at home on August 4, 2015. Born in Pennsylvania, she lived in Springfield’s Forest Park neighborhood since 1966. She received her BA from Miami University and her MA in Special Education from AIC and taught in the Suffield Public Schools.
She leaves her husband of 50 years, Steve Hays, and her two daughters: Amelia Hays-Rivest, her husband Rob and daughters Sierra and Lalia, and Abney Seyler, her husband Jeff and daughters Charly and Cally.
A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Springfield. Memorial gifts may be made to the Trinity Scholarship Fund. New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Visit www.nefcc.net
