SPRINGFIELD – Carlos Pizarro, 57, died April 1, 2010 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his family. Born in Bronx, NY to the late Buenaventuri and Onelia (Estepa) Pizarro, he was an area resident for the last twenty-two years. He had been employed at Western New England College. Carlos was an APA pool player for Brookside Café in Ludlow. His hobbies included fishing, refinishing furniture, going to the beach and supporting the New York Yankees. He was the owner of PNP DJ Services of Greater Springfield. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Merida Pizarro Estepa. He leaves his wife, Patricia A. (Martell) Pizarro; his daughter: Aisha Pizarro of Springfield and her mother, Carmen Agosto of Greenfield; his stepchildren: Patricia R. Pabon of NJ, Army Sergeant Major Todd Sherman of Knox, KY, Mellisa Sherman of Pittsfield, Jessica J. Santos of Holyoke, Carmen M. Santos of Pittsfield and Ivor R. Santos, Jr. of Springfield; his brother, Armando Serrano, Jr. of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; a very special brother-in-law, Peter K. Martell of Windsor Locks, CT; a special nephew, Bryan Martell of Springfield; a very close friend, Ish Lopez of Wilbraham; a cousin, Jose Serrano of Bronx NY; two special grandchildren, Marguerite E. Sherman and Sayne S. Pizarro and nine grandchildren, Matt, Seta, Destiny, Elijah, Jadon, Alex, Alicia, Eliezer and Haydeliz. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 meeting at 9:00 a.m. at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill St., Springfield, proceeding to Sacred Heart Church for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
