EAST LONGMEADOW – Beverly G. Bulkley, 79, died peacefully on July 12th 2010 in her home surrounded by her family. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Olive Grace. Raised in Longmeadow, she was a graduate of Classical High School and attended Westbrook College. She was married to William Hazen for 15 years and beloved wife of Charles Wilson Bulkley for 37 years. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Charles, and her brother, Allen Grace. She leaves her three daughters, Martha Foster of Westbrook, ME, Jane Jakobek of Longmeadow, and Nancy Hazen of Northampton. She also leaves two stepchildren, Deborah Kruskal of Sudbury, Charles Bulkley of North Carolina and her brother, Edward Grace, of Maine. She will be missed by her grandchildren, William Foster of Portland, ME, Kate Foster of Old Orchard Beach, ME, Kelly Jakobek of Longmeadow, Lily Leahy of Ireland, and Peter Kruskal of Sudbury, and two great-grandchildren, Esme and Maive Leahy of Ireland. She was a realtor with Stearns and Yerrall and DeWolff realtors for 53 years. She held many volunteer positions as a Secretary of the Republican Town Committee, an 11 year member of the school committee, and a member of the Long Range Planning Committee in East Longmeadow. She was a member of Springfield Ski Club, Wilbraham Country Club, Longmeadow Field Club, and Longmeadow Country Club. She was also a 55 year member of the Junior League of Springfield, the Springfield Garden Club, the First Congregational Church of Longmeadow, and President of the Reunion Committee of Westbrook College. The funeral for Mrs. Bulkley will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the First Church of Christ in Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery.
