EAST LONGMEADOW – Barbara D. Tesini died January 28, 2011 at age 79. Born in Lynn, MA to the late Hedvig (Soderholm) Hiller and Raymond F. Hiller, she was raised in Springfield attending local schools. Her first employment after school was with the F.W. Woolworth Co., where she was cashier and hosiery department buyer. After her marriage to Adolpho J. Tesini they settled in East Longmeadow (a town the family loves) and raised six children. Later they relocated to Florida, where she was employed by The City of Dania Beach, serving as cashier and treasurer of The General Employees Association, until her retirement in 1989. She loved traveling with her sisters on their annual reunions. They spent many summers together at Miami, South Beach, Disney World, Virginia Beach, Ogunquit, ME, the coast of California and their tour of Italy. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, flower arranging, gardening, sewing and was an avid bingo and card player. She enjoyed hosting many parties and special events for the residents of Brownstone Gardens 111. She is predeceased by Adolpho Tesini, three step brothers: Melvin, Joseph and Henry Hollis, step sister Mary Childs, four sisters: Gertrude Clark, Ruth Tesini, Marie Pelletier and Alice LaFromboise; her beloved grandson Jeremy Garlick and three special nephews: Richard Childs, Robert Childs and Wayne Pelletier. She is survived by three sons: Allan Tesini and his wife Susan of Miami, Stephen W. Tesini and his wife Tina of South Hadley and Carl Tesini of Idaho; three daughters: Donna M. Langdon and her husband Kenneth of Springfield, Linda J. Garlick of East Longmeadow and Karen L. Chlosta and her husband Joseph of East Longmeadow; three sisters: Irene Tesini, Evelyn Justis and Margaret Higgins; 15 beloved grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Spectrum Home Health and Hospice Care for the excellent care they gave to their mother. A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:00 AM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill St., Springfield MA.
