BELCHERTOWN-Barbara T. Stueckroth, 73, died August 21, 2011 at home. Born on August 30, 1937 in Springfield, MA to the late Ernest and Evelyn (Gaus) Setterstrom, she had worked for many years for the Wall Street Journal. Barbara was a member and former Vice-Chairman of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1489, the American Union of Swedish Singers, Rhode Island Chapter, VASA Order of America where she served as Chaplain, Vice Chairman of the Lodge, Recording Secretary of the Lodge and the Outer Guard of the Lodge. She was also the Director of Children’s Swedish Club designed to promote Swedish Culture which met at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in East Longmeadow. A communicant of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, lector, greeter, lay server and financial secretary. Predeceased by her parents and her son, Stanley Karl, she leaves her husband, Frederick H. Stueckroth ; three children and three step-children; brothers: Raymond Setterstrom of CA, John Setterstrom of Ludlow, MA and Ernest Setterstrom of Springfield, MA; sisters: Rose Vadnais of Springfield, Mary Santos, Shirley Chase and Eleanor Ryan all of Florida; grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Holyoke, MA. with burial to follow at Forestdale Cemetery. The wake will be held on Friday from 4-8 PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA 01108. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wing VNA and Hospice, 40 Wright St. Palmer, MA 01069 or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 34 Jarvis Ave., Holyoke, MA 01040.
