SPRINGFIELD – Anthony J. Ventrice, 83, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 in Baystate Medical Center, with his family at his side.
A lifelong resident, he was born on March 25, 1933 to Antonio and Adele (Vancini) Ventrice and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a veteran of the US Army and had worked at American International College.
He was skilled in the craft of woodworking and a true handyman. He will be remembered for his selfless love and generosity in helping others.
Predeceased by his parents and brother Robert Ventrice, he leaves his loving family, his sister Marie Menz in WI, and a sister, Shirley Ann in Springfield; nephews Jeffrey, Michael and Kenneth Menz and his nieces Sherie Johnson, Suzanne Morris and Terri Tomicki.
The wake will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 8:30 AM with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 AM.
Rites of Committal will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
