SPRINGFIELD-Anthony J. Pappas, 78, died February 13, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Palmer, MA on November 5, 1932 to the late James and Sophia Pappas, he was a political consultant and for many years a teacher in the Springfield and Longmeadow school districts. He was an accomplished jazz musician playing the trumpet, piano and clarinet. He leaves his brother, Stephen Pappas (Mary) of Springfield; his sisters, Georgia Sawyier, of Springfield, and Aphrodite Brown, of Falmouth; and his goddaughter, Christina Pellegrino and her children, Paige, Freya and Erik, of Springfield, along with many other friends.
