Anthony Carter, 58, a lifelong Springfield resident, passed away suddenly at home on April 7, 2021.
He was born in Hartford, CT on April 18, 1962 a son of Bertha (Starks) Carter of Uniontown, AL and the late Leroy Carter.
He was employed as an Aerospace Technician at Raytheon Technologies (formerly Hamilton Standard) for over thirty-five years. He was a man with a strong work ethic, very dedicated to his family and will be fondly remembered as a very kind and peaceful man, an awesome son, father, companion, brother, uncle, grandfather and a friend to many.
He leaves his children, Anthony Wells of Los Angeles, CA, Douglas Spears of Springfield, MA and Machelle Carter of East Longmeadow, MA; longtime companion Andrea Goodman of Springfield, MA; his brother, Leroy Carter of East Windsor, CT, two sisters: Althea Carter of Westfield, MA and Cynthia Brown of New York, NY; three grandchildren; Kwame Wilson, Kanada Carter and Mylah Spears and nieces and nephews.
A walk-thru viewing will be on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Christian Cathedral, 205 Eastern Avenue, Springfield, MA from 10AM – 12Noon followed by a service at 12noon.
Masks and social distancing are required.
Burial will be in the family cemetery in Alabama.
