SPRINGFIELD - Annie Lee Beckett, 54, was called home unto the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Annie was born in Garnett, SC on July 29, 1958 to Jesse and Ada Belle (Grant) Beckett and had worked for many years as a loan officer with United Bank. She enjoyed cooking, playing Wii games, playing on her iPad and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Predeceased by her mother, Ada Belle (Grant) Beckett in 2001, she leaves her longtime companion, Anthony Pearson, Sr. of Springfield, MA; her son, Benjamin “Tahni” Beckett (Talitha) of Springfield, MA; her daughters: Shalea Goldson (Andre) of GA, and Taniyah and Tanaisha Pearson of Springfield, MA; her father, Jesse Beckett of Springfield, MA; brother, Charles Beckett of Springfield, MA; sisters: Louvenia Beckett of GA and Cathy Alexander (Tarry) of Springfield, MA; five grandchildren: Briahna, Jadae and Christian Goldson and Tylahn and Benjamin A’Mare Beckett; nieces: Alexys Alexander of Springfield, MA and Sydni Beckett of GA; Ashanti Miller and Avyona Miles, who were like daughters and a host of other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Grace P. Makari-Judson at the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, the nurses and staff of Baystate VNA Hospice, especially her nurse, Linda Twyeffort and her extended work family at United Bank for their love and support. The funeral service for Ms. Beckett will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Bethel AME Church, 27 Pendleton St., Springfield beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a service at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taniyah and Tanaisha Pearson College Fund at United Bank.
