Almarine (Arrington) McCoy, 82, passed away on April 20, 2020.

Born in Halifax, North Carolina on December 14, 1937, she was a long time Springfield resident.

A devoted Jehovah’s Witness she was very nurturing, loving her family and putting them ahead of herself. She loved cooking, baking, collecting figurines, dolls, and road trips with her late sister, Martha Porter. She also loved her music and artists such as Millie Jackson and Teddy Pendergrass. Almarine retired after a thirty year career working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a group home attendant.

She is survived by her beloved sons: Eugene Couser, Jr., Robert and Darren McCoy, and her siblings: Joseph and David Arrington, and Susie Wiggins, and two daughters-in-law: Nicoe McCoy and Melanie Couser. She will be missed by eight grandchildren: Kimberly Couser, Jessica (Brown) Redditt, Eugene Brown, Aaron Thayer, Robert B. McCoy, Marissa McCoy, Peyton McCoy, Chandler McCoy, and three great grandchildren: Joseph Redditt, Jonah Arriaga, and Averi Brown.

Sadly, she was predeceased by her son Brian McCoy.

A private inurnment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery with a public celebration of her life when the regulations are lifted.
