Alice S. (Seferian) Vooris, beloved wife of sixty-two years of John Vooris, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on May 22, 2021.
She was born in Watertown, MA on June 24, 1933, a daughter of Serope and Derhouie (Bezerjian) Seferian.
A long-time resident of Indian Orchard she was a member of St. Mark’s Armenian Church Avak’s, a cultural, social, and beautification of church facilities organization, as the secretary. Alice was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi International while the family was stationed at Wheeler AFB in Hawaii. She enjoyed bowling, wintering in Florida and was a loving homemaker who went to work outside the home when her children went to school as a sales associate at the former Lechmere Sales.
In addition to her husband John, she is survived by two daughters, Doreen (Jules) LaValley and Darlene Vooris-Lape both of Springfield. She also leaves her brother Charles Seferian of Medford and Ludlow, MA. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Heidi Vooris (James Washington), David John (Kathryn) Vooris, Jennifer (Jonathan) Duff, Philip (Kaila) Gildersleeve, Alyssa Lape and Alice Lape: step-grandchildren, Veronicalynn (Anthony) Stratton and eight great-grandchildren; Jordan Almore, An’Janae and Si-Ana Washington, Logan, Jase and Nora Duff and Tyler and Mason Stratton. She leaves many family members and friends near and far. Sadly, she was predeceased by her son David Vooris on May 12, 2020, and her brother Harry Seferian.
Visitation will be on Wednesday June 2, 2021, from 12:30PM - 2:00PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA followed by interment at 3:00PM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
