Albert W. Johnston, 78, of Springfield passed away, peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
Son of the late Walter and June (Tobin) Johnston he was born in Webster, MA, on October 3, 1942, was raised in East Longmeadow, MA, and graduated from East Longmeadow High School.
Albert worked as a salesman for Country Club Soda for over 15 years and a bartender for area clubs for several years, establishing many friendships.
He especially enjoyed spending time in his home with his beloved cat “Lily” either reading or listening to Irish music. He enjoyed vacationing in and out of the country with close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Tom.
He is survived by his sister Suzanne and her husband, Barry Delong, her two children and three grandchildren in Kincaid, ME.
Albert will be dearly missed by Jim and Barbara McIntyre and family and childhood friends Dave, Bobby and Walter. Special thanks to Albert’s friend, “Red” who stood by and helped him through challenging times during his final days.
New Funeral & Cremation Center LLC, 25 Mill Street, Springfield, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements at the family’s request.
