SPRINGFIELD - Mrs. Agnes C. R. (Roselyn) Morris, age 80, of Grenada, West Indies has departed this life in East Longmeadow on Sunday, January 31, 2016. A longtime resident of Springfield, she was born July 16, 1935 in Grenada, West Indies. The daughter of the late Kerina Charles, she was the beloved wife for 50+ years to the late Horace T. Morris, who sadly predeceased her in 2012. She is also predeceased by her brother Levi Charles. She leaves her loving children Trevor A. Morris and partner Suzanne Larue of Worcester; Derek J. Morris and partner Denise Robinson of East Longmeadow; and Debra A. Jackson and husband Terry Jackson of Virginia Beach; grandchildren Danielle K. Morris, Daijah J. Morris, Aaron T. Bryant and Tayden S. Jackson; several great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends. Agnes immigrated to the United States in 1969 with her sons, joining her husband to establish a better life for her family. She was employed by various companies, the last and most significant Baystate Medical Center of Springfield, Massachusetts, retiring from there as a data processor in the early 90s. She will be well remembered for her strength, leadership, kindness, loyalty and thoughtfulness to everyone who was fortunate to cross her path. “Auntie Roselyn” will especially be remembered as a warm and helpful guide to many family members who needed her help when they came to transition to the United States. Agnes enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, exercise, especially aerobics, and sports. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling. Most of all, Agnes loved and treasured her family. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Agnes lived a good, successful, fulfilling life as a great wife, mother, friend, family member and co-worker. The family will receive friends on February 6, 2016 from 11 AM to 1 PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, Massachusetts with a service at 1 PM.
